NEWS South East Asia Tsunami
Dear all,
We at Engineers at FOPEE are profoundly saddened by the horrific
events of the 26th December 2004, and our most heartfelt thoughts are with the
millions of people who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods across the
region. Our support also goes out
to FOPE members who have families and friends in the affected regions.
We have had many enquiries since the disaster concerning involvement in
the aid effort. We do not have the expertise to contribute effectively to the
current disaster relief operations. Many established organisations are
currently working on a co-ordinated relief effort, and the best response we can
give in the short term is by helping them with cash donations to help them
procure the vast amounts of food, clothing, temporary shelter, and other
materials needed. Such a donation can be made through the Disasters Emergency
Committee at www.dec.org.uk.
